Apple to Become Top Portable PC Seller in 2012

A recent decision by the IDC has classified devices using x86 and ARM for processors as PC’s. This officially classifies the iPad as a PC, and skyrockets Apple above other portable PC vendors. Based on results so far, analysts are projecting 75 million units sold for 2011, while HP, the current leading portable PC vendor will have 50 million units sold. This will most likely be only lightly affected by the release of the TouchPad, as several reviews found the new iPad competitor to be lacking in performance.
