First there was Skyfire. Then we introduced Puffin. Both were apps that were optimized to play Flash content on the iPhone, iPad, etc. Yet, both clearly stated that firstly, flash games were not supported, and secondly, both state limitations, such as not supporting some websites’ content. However, a new app that just hit the App Store makes a bold claim, stating that 100% of all Flash content is supported, INCLUDING games. Yes, that’s right. Flash Video Expose states that all Flash content will be playable. However, a bold claim comes with a bold price tag; the app is available for $9.99.

We’re not going to be reviewing this one, folks. Even though the app sports some great user ratings, at the time of this writing there’s actually not one single written review for the app, and their claim of 100% support is a bit fishy to me. I’m a bit skeptical; some games are clearly designed for larger screens with better hardware, yet how can they still be played with “no wait time” (as the app description clearly states) when this is true? I really don’t think the hardware will be able to handle it. My old Linux machine starts whirring like crazy when any flash content is loaded, and I’m pretty sure even it has better tech specs than my fourth generation iPod Touch.

Sorry for all the skepticism, but truly, I find their claims hard to back up. If you want to spend $10 and try this, be my guest, but unless you want to play online flash games on your iPhone, I suggest you stick with the other two options we’ve mentioned on iTracki, Puffin and Skyfire, which are both much cheaper, and work great with Flash video.

How can they releas this stuff that is not working on app store? Is there not a test panel before they can release it on app store?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The App Store approval team usually does a good job, but occasionally, trash apps like these, as well as even some device emulators, have managed to slip through their approval process.
