BGR.com recently reported that it had received insider information from an “incredibly solid source”, which claimed that the iPhone 4S would be released sometime around the end of summer, late August-ish, alongside the prepaid iPhone 3GS- which would cost $349 without a contract. Currently, the iPhone 3GS costs $449 unsubsized- but rumors have been circulating that Apple will soon bump that price down.

Also according to the report, when Apple releases its iPhone 4S, it will still continue to sell the iPhone 4.This would mean that Apple will have 3 phones on its iPhone line-up, with the iPhone 3GS providing lower-cost service and the two iPhone4′s providing everything else.

The source says that the iPhone 4S will not likely be very different from the iPhone 4 design-wise. After all, if there were any new design changes, we probably would have seen a leak by now- which we have not.
