New Title ‘Empire War’ Looks Quite Interesting
While browsing the App Store this morning, I picked up on a new app that caught my eye. The game, called Empire War, hit the App Store just today, and claimed to be a real-time strategy game “performed by having a huge war between mankind and chaos.” Recently, I discovered the joy of playing Rome: Total War Gold Edition on my Macbook Pro, and so obviously, “real-time strategy” was compelling. Truth be told, there aren’t very many RTS games for the iOS platform, unless you count tower defense (which is almost cliched.) The game, priced at $2.99, has six hero characters and fourteen different types of units. Of course, I don’t expect it to be as good as Rome: Total War, the very fact that the iPhone screen size is so small hinders the management of your units.
So far, Empire War has just one rating on the App Store, although it is a 5 star rating. I’m really itching to try this out, as from the description and screenshots, it looks extremely promising. And although towers are incorporated into the game, it’s not solely Tower Defense, with units too, which I’m hoping that you can maneuver to defeat your opponent. (Empire War, please, PLEASE don’t disappoint me.) This just might be the RTS game that I’ve been combing the App Store for.
If this seems interesting, by all means try it out, and if you do, make sure you post your impressions in the comments below. We would love your feedback.
