Upcoming ‘Battleheart’ Update Adds Two New Characters
We’ve recently gotten word that Battleheart, a great RPG for the iOS platform and a universal app, is getting a gameplay update, which is going to bring two new characters, as well as some tweaks. The two new characters, the paladin and ranger, will promise even more hours on the game for those of you who insist on maxing out all your characters. TouchArcade has some more details on the two new classes:
As their names imply, the two will specialize in tanking and healing and hardcore damage at range, respectively. In a post on our forums, Mika Mobile expanded on this, adding that the goal was to make the Paladin a special kind of tank, as she sacrifices offensive entirely in service of healing the party and herself. The Ranger, in addition to being able to handle mobs, will also be able to direct enemies into the tank.
Some new tweaks were also implemented into the game. In the new update, completing a level with fewer characters means more experience points for the three-or-less members of your party. Additionally, enemy healers will also have limited mana from the update on. Here’s the complete list from MikaMobile, the developers.
- If you complete a level with fewer than 4 party members, the remaining members get an appropriately larger share of XP.
- Enemy healers have a finite amount of “mana” – if they survive for a long time, they’ll be unable to continue healing. This was done to prevent stalemates in battle.
- We felt the barbarian wasn’t quite as powerful as other classes, so we improved many of his abilities.
- Iron Skin now completely eliminates the penalty for Enrage
- Mortal Wounds was sorta pointless, so it’s been replaced with a cool new skill called Bloodthirsty
- Reckless Blow now deals more damage to the enemy, and only expends 25% of the barbarian’s CURRENT health.
- Frenzy now lasts 10 seconds, and boosts movement speed while active as well.
- Whirlwind also applies a brief knockdown effect with its final hit.
We can’t wait! If you haven’t heard of Battleheart before, or haven’t gotten it yet, I would strongly suggest you do so. Check out more about the game below:
