CEO of France Telecom Says the iPhone 5 Will be Released on October 15th
France Telecom Stéphane Richard reportedly made a startling claim recently, claiming that his sources point towards an October 15th release of the iPhone 5.
It’s very rare for a CEO to make a claim about the release date of Apple hardware.
Seeing as Richard is CEO of a company with close ties to Apple and the telecommunications industry, his claim should be taken as mostly quite accurate. Still, its impossible to tell whether he knows this date for a fact or is just basing his statement on popular rumor.
f I believe what we heard, the iPhone 5 will be released on October 15.
It seems strange though, that October 15th falls on a Saturday. This doesn’t exactly flow with Apple’s past iPhone releases – which were generally on a Thursday or Friday.
Richard has been quite outspoken on Apple in the past, openly discussing multiple factors in Apple phones such as Apple’s desires to reduce/eliminate the SIM card, going towards a built in e-SIM instead.
