iPhone 4S Sees Over 4 Million Sales in First Week – iOS 5 Has 25 Million Downloads
Today, Apple announced that it saw over 4 million iPhone 4S’ sold in just the first week of its launch, a number that far topped the 1.7 million iPhone 4s sold during that release.
“iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”
But the iPhone 4S wasn’t Apple’s only successful endevour, as it was also reported that over 25 million users had switched over to iOS 5 since its release last Wednesday, and over 20 million users have created iCloud accounts.
Already, the iPhone 4S is available in United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK. The device will be released to 22 more countries on October 28th, and Apple expects the device to spread to 70 countries by the end of the year.
