Popular Email Client ‘Sparrow’ Coming to the iPad
For people who have been using the popular Sparrow app as an alternative to Apple’s Mail app to manage their email, there is good news: the app will soon be making its debut to the iPad app store, with the iPad version fully utilizing the larger screen of the device.
Sparrow was introduced as a very minimalistic and easy to use email client, and the consumer response to the app has been very positive. I gave it a go because it used up a lot less hard drive space than the default Mac mail app to store all the emails that I had, and I was pretty pleased with it.
In recent Sparrow news, users of the iPhone version of the app know that the biggest flaw the app has is the lack of push notifications. According to the Sparrow devs, this is due to restrictions by Apple, but they promise they will be bringing Push to the iPhone, although they will charge users for it. As one may expect, this caused quit a stir from users, most of which were upset. The notifications will have a yearly subscription as well.
Download Sparrow for Mac and iPhone below. More information about the iPad release will be posted on iTracki as it is released.
