Apple Offering Discounts on 17″ Macbook Pro After its Discontinuation
After Apple discontinued its line of 17 inch Macbook Pros a few weeks ago (more on that can be found here.) we’re now seeing a lot of these devices on sale on Apple’s online store, starting at just $1,689. They’re currently being offered in the refurbished Mac category, and carry the same warranty, accessories, AppleCare plan, and support as all other Macs.
17″ Macbook Pros were a favorite for power users who wanted lots of screen space in addition to a machine that could handle lots of rendering and production. Although some were disappointed with the discontinuation of the device, Apple most likely felt that the computer wasn’t generating enough revenue to be worth kept in stock and updated.
