It’s August! Blog Update from the iTracki Team

Hi all! Whew! We’ve gotten past July 2011; another month gone. We here at iTracki achieved quite a lot during the month, and here’s just a quick update for everyone about what’s going on at iTracki.

• We started a weekly giveaway program, with tons of apps that are being given to subscribers to our free weekly newsletter. Details here.
• Our website has gone through a ton of redesign, and I think that our team is now fully satisfied with all of its aspects. We may be changing up some really small things here and there, but from until somewhere in the far-far-away future, expect that the design of iTracki.com stay just about the same.
• We have been working really hard on planning for iTracki Pro, our premium subscription service that will be coming soon to all iTracki users. For more information about iTracki Pro and what exactly we’ll be offering, visit our official page.
• Unfortunately, we have delayed our weekly podcasts until we actually launch the public beta of iTracki Pro. In our podcasts, we’ll be keeping you guys updated with the latest news and important stories of the week. The podcast will be published on our YouTube channel. Find out more here.
• We’ve been really adding to our arsenal of articles on iTracki, publishing the latest news, best tutorials, popular reviews, etc. Our team has been working very hard, and as a result, we have seen a huge surge in traffic within the past few weeks.

July Update: New Editorials, Site Look, iTracki Pro

Well, it seemed like our previous look of our site just wouldn’t do, so we scratched it completely and completely redesigned the site from the ground up. We’re pretty happy with the results too, and this new look is here to stay.

Additionally, we also added a new section to our website, called Editorials. Here’s some information about this new feature of our site:

iTracki.com publishes various editorials discussing Apple related topics. The tone in which we write these articles are different from our news and tutorials, which we aim to make brief, direct, and to the point. We do not bother with fancy introductions or lengthy descriptions in those articles; rather, we focus on giving high quality briefs on the information.

This is different. Similar to our reviews, we go more in depth in our editorials than our other articles. It is here that we offer the most insight on important Apple related topics. Our editorials are even more insightful than our reviews, and are the best quality articles that we have to offer on iTracki.com.

That’s not all! iTracki is also developing a subscription based service which we call iTracki Pro. A public beta will be available soon, but for now we’re still developing everything under the hood. Find out more by subscribing to our newsletter below on this page, or every other page on our site!

June 2011: Redesign!

If you’ve been around iTracki a lot, you may have noticed some redesign that has been going on with the site. We’ve added a lot of new things, as well as taken out stuff that we didn’t like.

The first thing you may have noticed is that we got a new logo! We’re really pleased with the new design, as the old one was pixelated and just didn’t really suit us. This new logo is smooth and looking great.

We’ve also added a scrolling bar just below our main navigation bar, which gives you easy access to some of our articles. The bar is interactive with your mouse, meaning that by positioning your mouse on different places in the bar, you can change the scrolling speed and direction. Use these quick links if you’re looking for an interesting read.

There’s also a new gray background image and gradient that we added, as the give the site more contrast.

This is just the beginning of our redesign, we’re thinking about cutting out the ugly ad on our top navigation menu and really making it look smooth.

Dear iTracki (DI): A New iTracki Feature

So recently, to help out some more members of the iOS community, iTracki.com has started actively contributing to Yahoo! Answers, answering questions that other people have about their iPods, the App Store, Apple, iTunes, etc. So we’ve decided to add a new feature to iTracki which we call DI: Dear iTracki, where we will post questions that members on Yahoo! Answers have asked, and answer them in a professional manner.

Meanwhile, iTracki has been rapidly growing since our decline a few months back (the culprit being us focused on other projects, such as iOS development.) We have also added a new section to our sidebar where we feature various iOS and Mac applications. If you want to get listed here, we have a limited-time offer of $5 a month!

Summer 2011: It Begins!

Summer has officially started for us here on the iTracki team. This means a variety of new features for our website! Details below:

• Weekly Podcasts: Every Friday, members of the iTracki team will be getting together to do a video podcast covering the week in Apple news, apps, etc. The podcast will be posted to our YouTube channel.
• More Content Updates: We will be constantly keeping track of the latest Apple news out there and writing reviews on apps, covering WWDC 2011, etc.
• Page Redesign: We are making quite a few changes to the layout of our website. We are keeping the same theme, but moving around and simplifying navigation. The biggest thing is separating timeless and time-dependent content.
• If you have any suggestions as to how the site could improve, please feel free to contact us!
