Several new Garmin apps were just recently released on the iOS App Store. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Garmin, it’s a GPS technology company that produces navigation products, such as GPS. Three new mobile apps from them just hit the App Store, including Garmin U.S.A. Although heavily priced at $39.99, keep in mind that the price of an actual GPS is probably going to be much higher. While browsing the App Store this morning, I picked up on a new app that caught my eye. The game, called Empire War, hit the App Store just today, and claimed to be a real-time strategy game “performed by having a huge war between mankind and chaos.” Recently, I discovered the joy of playing Rome: Total War Gold Edition on my Macbook Pro, and so obviously, “real-time strategy” was compelling. Truth be told, there aren’t very many RTS games for the iOS platform, unless you count tower defense (which is almost cliched.) The game, priced at $2.99, has six hero characters and fourteen different types of units. Of course, I don’t expect it to be as good as Rome: Total War, the very fact that the iPhone screen size is so small hinders the management of your units.
